The Travis County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with People Against Violent Crime, is pleased to announce the presentation of the second annual conference on domestic violence.
This year's event, titled Change 1, is held with the concept that if we can change one mind, we can change one life. This conference is hosted by PromiseLand Church located at 1504 E. 51st Street, Austin, Texas on August 8-9, 2012.
The target audience includes law enforcement and other first responders, prosecutors, judges and others within the criminal justice system, nurses, teachers and school administrators, social workers, counselors, and victim advocates.
This conference offers sessions to promote and enhance prevention, enforcement, and access to resources. The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to combatting the growing epidemic of violence in family and dating relationships. Teaching others to recognize the signs of abuse, how to address evidence of abuse, how to properly investigate and prosecute offenders to hold them accountable, and providing resources for survivors, are all vital parts in giving a voice to victims and ending violence. Education is a key component in prevention.
