"Very important - this proposed PUD on Spicewoods b/t Mesa and the Mopac frontage road could increase traffic from 4K cars per day to 25K."
Northwest Austin Civic Association (NWACA) is hosting a multi-neighborhood meeting for residents of neighborhoods adjacent to the proposed PUD development (Allandale, Balcones Civic Association, North Shoal Creek, NWACA, and Williamsburg Charlston Place).
Community Meeting on Paul Bury Austin Oaks PUD Re-Zoning App.
Aug. 19, 7pm
St. Matthews Episcopal Church
8134 Mesa Dr.
Includes tearing down many office buildings between Mopac and Hart Lane along Spicewood Springs to build "high-rises" of 17 to 8 stories tall, nowhere else in Austin but the CBD/State/UT area has buildings this tall. Starting a Second Downtown. Would add 21,000 new car trips a day to the immediate area, twice what the extended, tolled Hwy 45 would add to Mopac's south end, would gridlock the Spicewood-Anderson Lane-Mopac area at rush hours.
Bury is asking for a Re-zoning PUD on this area which would allow them to negotiate whatever they want with a majority of the Council, without neighborhood consent.
