NWACA will host a panel discussion on October 25th to provide background
information and an opportunity to discuss issues related to the upcoming
Central Health ballot initiative - Proposition 1. The panel will address
matters like these:
. Background, history, and evolution of services provided by Central
Health, our Travis County Healthcare district.
. What medical services will be expanded or created if Proposition 1
. Who will it serve - Low income, uninsured, Medicaid and Medicare
. What other funding is being used? (UT, Seton, Medicaid 1115 Waiver?)
How are those funds being leveraged?
. How much will Proposition 1 cost? What does 5 cent tax for $100
. I have insurance. How do I benefit?
. Will Brackenridge Hospital be replaced? Will Seton Healthcare Family
pay for it?
. If the proposition is not approved, can we still get a medical
school in Austin?
