"The proposition 1 urban rail line as currently envisioned is a poor investment for the residents of the NACA area. It will be paid for with higher property taxes, provide no appreciable decrease to existing traffic in our daily commutes, and does not have a planned service extension to the North Austin area, one of the most densely populated in the City. While transit solutions and investments are sorely needed in Austin right now, this one is not comprehensive enough to materially affect the way we move through and around Austin. As the great American architect and planner Daniel Burnham once stated, "Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work." I personally would like to see this plan taken back to the drawing board and put before the people of Austin as a rail/transit plan that aims high and seeks to change the transportation equation in Austin in a much bigger way."
