Before the holidays, we noted that, by providing free income tax preparation for working families in Austin, Foundation Communities' Community Tax Centers "helped the local economy recover over $36 million in tax refunds".
The program needs volunteers.
Here's the description of this volunteering opportunity by Foundation Communities' Community Tax Centers Volunteer Coordinator Gwen Moore:
"No previous tax preparation experience is necessary. We’ll provide all the training you need.
You can provide free tax preparation and secure full refunds for hard-working, low-income families so they can put more food on the table, pay outstanding bills, and save for the future. Become a Community Tax Center volunteer and help us serve 20,000 families in Austin!
