Join us for happy hour and hear CATO Senior Fellow Randal O’Toole ( sketch below)discuss and answer questions regarding Austin’s $1.4 billion light rail initiative, proposed by Project Connect which is an organization formed by the City, Cap Metro and Lone Star Rail. The light rail project seeks to build a 9.5 mile route from Highland Mall to Grove St on East Riverside Dr. In November, the Austin City Council will ask voters to approve $600 million of new city debt to build the controversial new urban rail system.
Randal O’Toole is the author of multiple books, covering topics from Forest Service land-use policy to regulations that affect home ownership, urban planning, and traffic.
