You are invited to attend the Saturday, Sept. 22, Austin Interfaith Civic Academy: The Many Faces of Homelessness.
It is focused on learning about, and discussing possible solutions to, homelessness. The event will take place at First United Methodist Church, 1201 Lavaca.
Registration and light refreshments at 8:30AM; speakers begin at 9:00AM. Leaders from Austin Interfaith institutions all over town are being invited. Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole and Council Members Mike Martinez and Kathie Tovo will be present. Also, executive directors from respected homeless service providers (Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Foundation for the Homeless, ECHO, etc.) will speak and lead small group discussions.
Parking is available in the surface lot next to First United Methodist and in the surface lot next to the Texas Oil and Gas Association on 13th street (between Guadalupe and Lavaca).
You will need to pay meters if you park on the street.
