areas where fighting is the worst are holed up in camps, about to begin the
season of Ramadan, followed by the the traditionally joyful and exciting holiday
of Eid ul-Fitr.
Most Muslim children celebrate Eid by putting on
beautiful new clothes, joining their family in community prayer, and then being
showered with love, sweets, and gifts all day. Syria’s refugee children
will be lucky to have anything this year.
Local friends here in Austin are hoping to make a difference for at least some of these children by collecting new or gently used toys and personal items to deliver to Syrian refugee camps for Eid.
