There's been a lot of talk about the Council's decision to approve a property tax exemption, but we also need to remember that at least 42% of Austinites are renters. There is also the latest Music Study that says musicians are being pushed out of Austin.

Most North Austin neighborhoods are 60-80% rental. Could we use the budget surplus to help our renters, too?
