The City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Office announces a 30-day public comment period and public hearing to receive input on a Substantial Amendment to the FY 2011-12 Action Plan. The City of Austin plans to apply for additional grant funds made available to through HUD’s Emergency Solutions Grant program funds authorized by the Steward B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, as amended by the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing Act of 2009 (HEARTH Act). The Substantial Amendment for grant funds is due to HUD on or prior to May 14th.
A summary of the Substantial Amendment will be made available to the public for 30-day comment period, March 16th through April 16th. A public hearing before the Austin City Council will be held for the public to provide input at or after 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at City Hall, City Council Chambers, 301 W. Second Street.
The public is invited to review a summary of the Substantial Amendment from March 16, 2012, through April 16, 2012, on the City’s web site at www.austintexas.gov/housing or at a number of community locations.
