Over the past several months, City Staff have been out and about listening to what the community has to say about issues from how folks would like to be notified about new affordable housing development, to how we can locate affordable housing throughout the entire city. We've heard from hundreds of people at numerous forums, but we'd like to hear from more.
We have created two web pages to collect your input. The first discusses the proposed "Good Neighbor Guidelines" which will be a tool for developers and neighbors in strengthening community relations. This discussion can be found here: http://austintexas.icanmakeitbetter.com/discussions/4e8386ecbafc9b000100012d/page/1
The second talks about how to get "All Types of Housing In All Parts of Town" and looks at the challenges and opportunities we have in truly dispersing affordability throughout the community. This discussion can be found here: http://austintexas.icanmakeitbetter.com/discussions/4ed658b22f4180000100001b/page/1
We'd like to invite you, and your communities, to participate in these online discussions. Each page contains an introduction with links and documents that can help start the discussion, but we want to encourage you to add or include any other ideas you have.
