1. Quarter-Cent Funding for Transportation Projects. The City has $21.7M in this fund that can be used for a variety of mobility needs. I met with representatives from the City's Public Works and Transportation Department regarding District 6 projects. The priorities I outlined were:
Anderson Mill Road:
2. 183 North Project – Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA). CTRMA is working on plans to expand 183 between RR 620 and MOPAC. I am working with CTRMA to have them present this at a future Town Hall.
3. McNeil Drive and RM 2222 - This month the contractor will continue to place the sidewalk ramps, concrete curbs and gutters, and some level-up asphalt paving. The most significant work will take place on Sunday, August 16th, when the contractor will begin milling and asphalt paving on McNeil Drive and RM 2222. This work will take place Sunday night through Wednesday from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am each night. Once that work is complete, RM 2222 lanes will be shifted to the outside leaving room for the concrete median that will be constructed in the center island around the new traffic signal pole. Once final striping is completed, RM 2222 will have dual lefts. McNeil will also be striped to the 3-lane section. This section will include a left turn, a right turn, and a center optional left or right turn. These striping changes will be done prior to school starting on Monday, August 24th.
